My name is Bruce Greenberg (owner and founder of Greenberg Construction). My wife, Jenefer, and I have lived and worked in Tehachapi since April 2004. We service all of Tehachapi and all surrounding areas including Lancaster and Palmdale.
First of all, as for myself… I have been in the construction trades for over 35 years but unlike many general contractors what seems to make me unique is that I have hands on experience in many of the trades that make up building a home as well as working in the commercial sector. Almost all general contractors know about the framing and foundations but what about the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, tiles, masonry, and yes, even the planning stages? Even though it's true that these sub-contractors are hired by the general, it's nice to know that your general contractor has the same type of hands on experience as the subs they hire so if anything does go wrong or if problems come up the general can handle it without too much fuss.
As of this writing (March 14, 2008) we have completed quite a few projects in the Tehachapi area; many are included in this web site. You can see some of our work just by walking into the “Fuller and Fuller” gift shop (btwn. The “Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory” and the Bakery) on 125 W. Tehachapi Bl. We remodeled the left hand side of the gift shop by installing a stairway with a hidden closet underneath using slat board for retail space with drywall upper to the trelace work at the top. We enjoy this area and the people here very much and we are very much in tune with the real estate market. Please check out the “Costs” section of this website where you’ll get a good idea of how much building costs are. There are 4 different categories and this section is updated every 6 months to every year depending on amount of the changes that have taken place since the last update.
We also write a question and answer piece in the “Ask a Professional” section once a month in the Tehachapi News that are of concerns to Tehachapi residents. All projects, from a complete new home to a room addition / remodel, the quality of materials and craftsmanship, are treated as if it is our own property. Our flexibility gives you the options to decide whether you want a “turn key” project (we handle everything from plans to final) or a money saving option letting you do some of the work.
